Article L424-6 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

When refugee status is terminated by a final decision of the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons or by a court decision, or when the foreign national renounces this status, the residence permit provided for in articles L. 424-1 and L. 424-3 is withdrawn.
The administrative authority shall rule on the right of residence of the persons concerned on another basis within a period set by decree in the Conseil d’Etat.
The resident card may not be withdrawn pursuant to the first paragraph when the foreigner has been legally resident for at least five years.

Lorsqu’il est mis fin au statut de réfugié par décision définitive de l’Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides ou par décision de justice ou lorsque l’étranger renonce à ce statut, la carte de résident prévue aux articles L. 424-1 et L. 424-3 est retirée.
L’autorité administrative statue sur le droit au séjour des intéressés à un autre titre dans un délai fixé par décret en Conseil d’Etat.
La carte de résident ne peut être retirée en application du premier alinéa quand l’étranger est en situation régulière depuis au moins cinq ans.
