Article L426-10 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A foreign national who is the holder of a residence permit bearing the wording “retired”, as provided for in article L. 426-8, and who can prove that he or she wishes to settle in France and reside there on a principal basis, will be issued with a ten-year residence permit, subject to regularity of residence.

L’étranger, titulaire d’une carte de séjour portant la mention ” retraité ” prévue à l’article L. 426-8, qui justifie de sa volonté de s’établir en France et d’y résider à titre principal se voit délivrer une carte de résident d’une durée de dix ans sous réserve de la régularité du séjour.
