Article L432-12 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

If a foreign national who cannot be the subject of an expulsion decision pursuant to articles L. 631-2 or L. 631-3 is the holder of a residence permit this may be withdrawn if he/she is the subject of a final conviction on the basis of articles 433-3,433-4, the second to fourth paragraphs of article 433-5, the second paragraph of article 433-5-1 or article 433-6 of the Penal Code.

Article L432-12

Si un étranger qui ne peut faire l’objet d’une décision d’expulsion en application des articles L. 631-2 ou L. 631-3 est titulaire d’une carte de résident cette dernière peut lui être retirée s’il fait l’objet d’une condamnation définitive sur le fondement des articles 433-3,433-4, des deuxième à quatrième alinéas de l’article 433-5, du deuxième alinéa de l’article 433-5-1 ou de l’article 433-6 du code pénal.
Une carte de séjour temporaire portant la mention ” vie privée et familiale ” lui est alors délivrée de plein droit.
