Article L4341-3 of the French Public Health Code

The diplomas, certificates or qualifications referred to in article L. 4341-2 are the “certificat de capacité d’orthophoniste” established by the Ministers of Education and Health, or one of the diplomas or certificates of study in speech and language therapy established by the Minister of Education prior to the creation of the said certificate.

The decree instituting the certificate of qualification in speech and language therapy lays down the conditions for obtaining the certificate with partial or total exemption from schooling, training courses and tests for persons who, without possessing one of the qualifications provided for in the first paragraph, are in possession of :

1° Either a certificate of aptitude for teaching children with hearing impairments, recognised by the Minister for Health;

2° Or a diploma as a specialised teacher of deaf children, recognised by the Minister for Education; or

3° Or a qualification as a dyslexic re-educator, recognised by one or other of these two ministers.

Article L4341-3

Les diplômes, certificats ou titres mentionnés à l’article L. 4341-2 sont le certificat de capacité d’orthophoniste établi par les ministres chargés de l’éducation et de la santé, ou l’un des diplômes ou attestations d’études d’orthophonie établis par le ministre chargé de l’éducation antérieurement à la création dudit certificat.

Le décret instituant le certificat de capacité d’orthophoniste fixe les conditions d’obtention avec dispense partielle ou totale de scolarité, de stages et d’épreuves dont peuvent bénéficier les personnes qui, sans posséder l’un des titres prévus au premier alinéa, sont munies :

1° Soit d’un certificat d’aptitude à l’enseignement des enfants atteints de déficience auditive, reconnu par le ministre chargé de la santé ;

2° Soit d’un diplôme d’instituteur spécialisé pour les enfants sourds, reconnu par le ministre chargé de l’éducation ;

3° Soit d’un titre de rééducateur des dyslexiques, reconnu par l’un ou l’autre de ces deux ministres.
