Persons who have obtained the evidence of formal qualifications or authorisation required for the practice of the profession of speech and language therapist are required to register with the department or body designated for this purpose by the Minister responsible for health, before entering the profession. Speech and language therapists may use their evidence of formal qualifications in the language of the State which awarded them. He must indicate the place and establishment where it was obtained. The organisations issuing the training certificates send these certificates to the service or organisation mentioned in article L. 4341-2 in the form of certified information.

Where available, the certified information referred to in Article L. 4341-2-2 shall serve as supporting documents for the fulfilment of the obligations laid down in Article L. 4341-2.

The diplomas, certificates or qualifications referred to in article L. 4341-2 are the “certificat de capacité d’orthophoniste” established by the Ministers of Education and Health, or one of the diplomas or certificates of study in speech and language therapy established by the Minister of Education prior to the creation of the said certificate.
