Article L4352-4 of the French Public Health Code

Persons who, before entering the profession, obtained the evidence of formal qualifications or authorisation required to practise as a medical laboratory technician or falling within the scope of 1° of article L. 4352-3 and articles L. 4352-3-1 and L. 4352-3-2, as well as those who, not practising as such, obtained their evidence of formal qualifications less than three years ago, are required to register with the service or body designated for this purpose by the Minister responsible for health.

The registration of these persons is carried out after verification of the supporting documents attesting to their identity and their training certificate or their authorisation or practice on the dates mentioned, respectively, in 1° of article L. 4352-3 and in articles L. 4352-3-1 and L. 4352-3-2. They must inform the same service or organisation of any change of residence or professional situation.

For people who have practised as medical laboratory technicians, the obligation to provide information about a change of residence is maintained for a period of three years from the date on which they ceased their activity.

The registration procedure is free of charge.

Subject to the provisions of article L. 4061-1, medical laboratory technicians may only practice their profession if the registration procedure has been properly completed.

Article L4352-4

Sont tenues de se faire enregistrer auprès du service ou de l’organisme désigné à cette fin par le ministre chargé de la santé les personnes ayant obtenu, avant leur entrée dans la profession, un titre de formation ou une autorisation requis pour l’exercice de la profession de technicien de laboratoire médical ou relevant du 1° de l’article L. 4352-3 et des articles L. 4352-3-1 et L. 4352-3-2, ainsi que celles qui, ne l’exerçant pas, ont obtenu leur titre de formation depuis moins de trois ans.

L’enregistrement de ces personnes est réalisé après vérification des pièces justificatives attestant de leur identité et de leur titre de formation ou de leur autorisation ou d’un exercice aux dates mentionnées, respectivement, au 1° de l’article L. 4352-3 et aux articles L. 4352-3-1 et L. 4352-3-2. Elles informent le même service ou organisme de tout changement de résidence ou de situation professionnelle.

Pour les personnes ayant exercé la profession de technicien de laboratoire médical, l’obligation d’information relative au changement de résidence est maintenue pendant une période de trois ans à compter de la cessation de leur activité.

La procédure d’enregistrement est sans frais.

Sous réserve des dispositions de l’article L. 4061-1, les techniciens de laboratoire médical ne peuvent exercer leur profession que si la procédure d’enregistrement a été convenablement accomplie.
