Persons who have obtained the evidence of formal qualifications or authorisation required to practise as opticians must register with the department or body designated for this purpose by the Minister responsible for health before entering the profession.
The registration of these persons is carried out after verification of the supporting documents attesting to their identity and their evidence of formal qualifications or authorisation. They must inform the same department or body of any change in their professional situation.
The registration procedure is free of charge.
A list of this profession is drawn up for each département by the department or body designated for this purpose, and made available to the public. Opticians may be registered in only one département.
Persons holding a diploma, certificate or other evidence of formal qualifications referred to in Articles L. 4362-2 and L. 4362-3 registered in accordance with the first paragraph may practise the profession of retail optician.
The procedures for applying this article shall be laid down by decree.
