Article L4362-2 of the French Public Health Code

The diplomas, certificates and other evidence of formal qualifications referred to in Article L. 4362-1 are the optician-mutician advanced technician’s certificate and the optician-mutician professional certificate, as well as any other evidence of formal qualifications designated by order of the ministers responsible for trade, the economy and finance, higher education and health.

Opticians may use their evidence of formal qualifications in the language of the State which issued them. He must indicate the place and establishment where it was obtained.

Where the evidence of formal qualifications of the Member State or Party of origin is liable to be confused with evidence of formal qualifications requiring additional training in France, the competent authority may decide that the optician-mutician shall refer to the evidence of formal qualifications of the Member State or Party of origin in an appropriate form which it shall specify.

The person concerned shall bear the professional title of optician.

Article L4362-2

Les diplômes et certificats ou titres mentionnés à l’article L. 4362-1 sont le brevet de technicien supérieur opticien-lunetier et le brevet professionnel d’opticien-lunetier, ainsi que tout autre titre désigné par arrêté des ministres chargés du commerce, de l’économie et des finances, de l’enseignement supérieur et de la santé.

L’opticien-lunetier peut faire usage de son titre de formation dans la langue de l’Etat qui le lui a délivré. Il est tenu de faire figurer le lieu et l’établissement où il a été obtenu.

Dans le cas où le titre de formation de l’Etat d’origine, membre ou partie, est susceptible d’être confondu avec un titre exigeant en France une formation complémentaire, l’autorité compétente peut décider que l’opticien-lunetier fera état du titre de formation de l’Etat d’origine, membre ou partie, dans une forme appropriée qu’elle lui indique.

L’intéressé porte le titre professionnel d’opticien-lunetier.
