In New Caledonia and French Polynesia, the court of first instance of the Association of Midwives is constituted by a disciplinary chamber, the creation of which is subject to the finding by the National Council of the Association that at least thirty midwives are registered on the roll of the Association in New Caledonia or French Polynesia.
Until that date, the powers vested in the disciplinary chamber of the Association of Midwives of New Caledonia or French Polynesia are exercised by the inter-regional council of the Ile-de-France region under the conditions laid down in article L. 4124-1. In this case, the complaint concerning a midwife is lodged with this inter-regional council by the persons designated in articles L. 4124-1 and L. 4124-2 as modified by the provisions of articles L. 4441-2 to L. 4441-11. An appeal against the decision of the disciplinary chamber of first instance is lodged with the Conseil national de l’ordre des sages-femmes.
