The information body referred to in article L. 451-1 provides the State, in accordance with the procedures laid down by decree in the Conseil d’Etat, with information relating to all land motor vehicles likely not to comply with the insurance obligation provided for in Chapter I of Title I of Book II.
When the State so requests as part of its task of monitoring compulsory motor third party liability insurance, the information body shall inform it, in accordance with the procedures laid down by decree in the Conseil d’Etat, whether the vehicle inspected complies with the compulsory insurance requirement laid down in Chapter I of Title I of Book II or whether it benefits from the exemption provided for in Article L. 211-1.
To enable the guarantee fund to carry out its duties as set out in V of article L. 421-1, the information body shall inform it, in accordance with the procedures set by decree in the Conseil d’Etat, of the registration numbers of vehicles that may not comply with the insurance obligation set out in Chapter I of Title I of Book II.
