Article L4744-1 of the French Labour Code

It is an offence for a project owner to have a building or part of a building built or converted for professional use without complying with the obligations imposed by the provisions of articles L. 112-2, L. 134-13 and L. 155-2 of the Code de la construction et de l’habitation, as well as by the regulatory provisions adopted for their application, is punishable by the penalties laid down in articles L. 480-4 and L. 480-5 of the town planning code.

Le fait pour un maître d’ouvrage de faire construire ou aménager un bâtiment ou une partie de bâtiment à usage professionnel en méconnaissance des obligations mises à sa charge par les dispositions des articles L. 112-2, L. 134-13 et L. 155-2 du code de la construction et de l’habitation, ainsi que par les dispositions réglementaires prises pour leur application est puni des peines prévues aux articles L. 480-4 et L. 480-5 du code de l’urbanisme.
