Article L512-59 of the French Consumer Code

During the visit, the authorised officers may seize any objects, documents and information media useful to the investigation. They may take samples of goods. They may also place seals on any business premises, objects, documents and information media, within the limits of the duration of the visit to these premises.
Only the authorised agents, the occupier of the premises or his representative and the judicial police officer may inspect the documents and data contained in any information media before they are seized.
All objects, documents and information media seized are inventoried and placed under seal.

Au cours de la visite, les agents habilités peuvent procéder à la saisie de tous objets, documents et supports d’information utiles aux besoins de l’enquête. Ils peuvent prélever des échantillons de marchandises. Ils peuvent également procéder à la pose de scellés sur tous locaux commerciaux, objets, documents et supports d’information, dans la limite de la durée de la visite de ces locaux.
Les agents habilités, l’occupant des lieux ou son représentant ainsi que l’officier de police judiciaire peuvent seuls prendre connaissance des documents et des données contenues dans tout support d’information avant leur saisie.
Tous objets, documents et supports d’information saisis sont inventoriés et placés sous scellés.
