Article L513-7 of the French Intellectual Property Code

The rights conferred by the registration of a design shall not be exercised:

a) On equipment installed on board ships or aircraft registered in another country when they temporarily enter French territory;

b) On the importation into France of spare parts and accessories for the repair of such ships or aircraft or on the occasion of such repair.

Les droits conférés par l’enregistrement d’un dessin ou modèle ne s’exercent pas :

a) Sur des équipements installés à bord de navires ou d’aéronefs immatriculés dans un autre pays lorsqu’ils pénètrent temporairement sur le territoire français ;

b) Lors de l’importation en France de pièces détachées et d’accessoires pour la réparation de ces navires ou aéronefs ou à l’occasion de cette réparation.
