Article L5134-125 of the French Labour Code

I. – The contract associated with a teaching post for the future is concluded, subject to the specific provisions of the present section, in the form of an employment support contract governed by section 2 of the present chapter.

II – The contract associated with a job for the future as a teacher is concluded for a period of twelve months, renewable if necessary, up to a total period of thirty-six months, with a view to carrying out an educational support activity compatible, for the beneficiary student, with the pursuit of his/her university studies and preparation for competitive examinations.

The beneficiary of a future teacher job undertakes to continue his or her training in a higher education establishment and to sit one of the competitive examinations for the recruitment of primary or secondary school teachers organised by the State. In the event of success in the competitive examination, the contract is automatically terminated before its normal expiry date, on the date of appointment to a teaching post.

I. ― Le contrat associé à un emploi d’avenir professeur est conclu, sous réserve des dispositions spécifiques prévues par la présente section, sous la forme d’un contrat d’accompagnement dans l’emploi régi par la section 2 du présent chapitre.

II. ― Le contrat associé à un emploi d’avenir professeur est conclu pour une durée de douze mois, renouvelable s’il y a lieu, dans la limite d’une durée totale de trente-six mois, en vue d’exercer une activité d’appui éducatif compatible, pour l’étudiant bénéficiaire, avec la poursuite de ses études universitaires et la préparation aux concours.

Le bénéficiaire d’un emploi d’avenir professeur s’engage à poursuivre sa formation dans un établissement d’enseignement supérieur et à se présenter à un des concours de recrutement d’enseignants du premier ou du second degré organisés par l’Etat. En cas de réussite au concours, le contrat prend fin de plein droit, avant son échéance normale, à la date de nomination dans des fonctions d’enseignement.
