Article L522-12 of the French Commercial code

The prefectoral decree authorising the opening of the general shop subjects its operator to the obligation of a bond.

The same obligation applies to the establishments referred to in article L. 522-8.

The amount of this bond, proportional to the surface area allocated to warehousing, is between two limits set by decree in the Conseil d’Etat.

Article L522-12

L’arrêté préfectoral autorisant l’ouverture du magasin général soumet son exploitant à l’obligation d’un cautionnement.

Sont soumis à la même obligation les établissements visés à l’article L. 522-8.

Le montant de ce cautionnement, proportionnel à la surface affectée au magasinage, est compris entre deux limites fixées par décret en Conseil d’Etat.
