Article L522-15 of the French Commercial code

General warehouse operators are responsible, within the limits of the declared value, for the custody and preservation of the warehouses entrusted to them.

They are not liable for natural damage and waste arising from the nature and packaging of the goods or from cases of force majeure.

The standard regulations and special regulations provided for in articles L. 522-13 and L. 522-17 specify the obligations of operators with regard to the preservation of deposits.

The contract governing the relationship between the operator of the general shop and the manager of the trading platform referred to in the first paragraph of Article L. 522-37-1 may derogate from the provisions of the first three paragraphs of this article.

Les exploitants de magasins généraux sont responsables, dans les limites de la valeur déclarée, de la garde et la conservation des dépôts qui leur sont confiés.

Ils ne sont pas responsables des avaries et déchets naturels provenant de la nature et du conditionnement des marchandises ou des cas de force majeure.

Les règlements types et les règlements particuliers prévus aux articles L. 522-13 et L. 522-17 précisent les obligations des exploitants en ce qui concerne la conservation des dépôts.

Le contrat régissant les relations de l’exploitant du magasin général et du gestionnaire de la plateforme de négociation mentionnée au premier alinéa de l’article L. 522-37-1 peut déroger aux dispositions des trois premiers alinéas du présent article.
