Article L5822-1 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

In the regions of Guadeloupe, Guyane, Martinique and Réunion, the perimeter of the areas referred to in article L. 5223-1 is decided by the representative of the State in the region, after obtaining the opinion of the regional council and the general council, regardless of the number of inhabitants of all the communes involved in the intermunicipal development and planning charter.

Dans les régions de Guadeloupe, de Guyane, de Martinique et de la Réunion, le périmètre des zones visées à l’article L. 5223-1 est arrêté par le représentant de l’Etat dans la région, après avis du conseil régional et du conseil général, quel que soit le nombre d’habitants de l’ensemble des communes associées dans le cadre de la charte intercommunale de développement et d’aménagement.
