I. – A five-year multiannual protocol is signed between the Minister of Defence and the Ministers of Health, Social Security and the Budget. It defines the relations and reciprocal commitments of these ministries, with the aim of better meeting the health needs of the population, in particular the specific health needs of defence.
II. – The protocol provided for in I specifies:
1° The missions carried out by the Armed Forces Medical Corps as part of the public hospital service and its contribution to any other mission relating to health policy;
2° The priority areas for action, particularly in terms of the contribution of the healthcare system players mentioned in I of article L. 6147-10 of this code to the health support of the armed forces and to meeting the specific needs of defence;
3° The objectives for the development of relations between these players in the health system and the armed forces health service.
III. – The protocol provided for in I defines the methods for calculating the financial compensation:
1° For the contribution of the health system players mentioned in I of article L. 6147-10 to the health support of the armed forces;
2° For the missions carried out by the armed forces health service as part of the public hospital service or any other mission relating to health policy.
