Article L713-3-4 of the French Intellectual Property Code

Where the reproduction of a trade mark in a dictionary, encyclopaedia or similar reference work, in printed or electronic form, gives the impression that it constitutes the generic term designating the goods or services for which it is registered and the proprietor of the trade mark so requests, the publisher shall indicate without delay and at the latest at the time of the next edition if the work is printed that it is a registered trade mark.

Lorsque la reproduction d’une marque dans un dictionnaire, une encyclopédie ou un ouvrage de référence similaire, sous forme imprimée ou électronique, donne l’impression qu’elle constitue le terme générique désignant les produits ou les services pour lesquels elle est enregistrée et que le titulaire de la marque en fait la demande, l’éditeur indique sans délai et au plus tard lors de l’édition suivante si l’ouvrage est imprimé qu’il s’agit d’une marque enregistrée.
