Article L731-2 of the French Intellectual Property Code

Any use, in the advertisements and documents mentioned in this chapter, of drawings, contact details, references or other distinctive signs relating to a public service is subject to the prior authorisation of the service concerned.

The authorisation provided for in the first paragraph:

1° May not be issued without prior presentation of a copy of the medium intended for publication;

2° May not be valid for more than one year, possibly renewable in the same manner;

3° Is justified by the public interest.

The department that issued the authorisation may withdraw it at any time if one of the above conditions is no longer met. The withdrawal decision takes effect ten days after notification.

Article L731-2

Toute utilisation, dans les publicités et documents mentionnés au présent chapitre, de dessins, coordonnées, références ou autres signes distinctifs relatifs à un service public est soumise à l’autorisation préalable du service concerné.

L’autorisation prévue au premier alinéa :

1° Ne peut être délivrée sans présentation préalable d’un exemplaire du support destiné à la publication ;

2° Ne peut être valable pour une durée supérieure à un an, éventuellement renouvelable dans les mêmes formes ;

3° Est motivée par l’intérêt général.

Le service ayant délivré l’autorisation peut la retirer à tout moment si l’une des conditions précitées n’est plus remplie. La décision de retrait prend effet dix jours après sa notification.
