Title III: Information on public services

This chapter applies to advertising, regardless of the medium, and commercial practices relating to breakdown, repair and maintenance services in the building and household equipment sector. The services concerned are listed by order of the Minister responsible for consumer affairs.

Any use, in the advertisements and documents mentioned in this chapter, of drawings, contact details, references or other distinctive signs relating to a public service is subject to the prior authorisation of the service concerned. Any breach of Article L. 731-2 is punishable by an administrative fine of up to €100,000. The fine is imposed by the administrative authority responsible for competition and consumer affairs under the conditions set out in Chapter II of Title II of Book V of the Consumer Code.

Failures to comply with this chapter are investigated and recorded by the agents mentioned in articles L. 511-3 and L. 511-21 of the Consumer Code, under the conditions set out in article L. 511-6 of the same code.
