The liberty and custody judge may, under the same conditions as in article L. 742-1, be referred to again for the purpose of extending the period of detention beyond thirty days, in the following cases:
1° In the event of absolute urgency or a particularly serious threat to public order;
2° Where the impossibility of enforcing the removal decision results from the loss or destruction of the person concerned’s travel documents, the concealment by the latter of his identity or the deliberate obstruction of his removal;
3° Where the removal decision could not be enforced due to:
a) failure to issue travel documents by the consulate to which the person concerned is subject or where the issue of travel documents was too late to enforce the removal order;
b) lack of means of transport.
The foreign national may be held at the disposal of the courts under the conditions set out in article L. 742-2.
If the judge orders the extension of the period of detention, it shall run from the expiry of the previous period of detention and for a further maximum period of thirty days. The maximum period of detention shall then not exceed sixty days.
