Article L743-1 of the French Commercial code

Commercial court clerks are subject, in their professional activity, to inspections under the authority of the Minister of Justice, under conditions laid down by decree in the Council of State. During these inspections, they are required to provide all useful information and documents without being able to invoke professional secrecy.

Les greffiers des tribunaux de commerce sont soumis, dans leur activité professionnelle, à des inspections sous l’autorité du garde des sceaux, ministre de la justice, dans des conditions prévues par décret en Conseil d’Etat. Au cours de ces inspections, ils sont tenus de fournir tous renseignements et documents utiles sans pouvoir opposer le secret professionnel.
