Article L743-14 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The liberties and detention judge determines the places in which the foreign national is assigned to residence. At the judge’s request, the foreign national shall provide evidence that the premises assigned to his or her main residence proposed for the assignment meet the requirements of effective guarantees of representation.

Le juge des libertés et de la détention fixe les lieux dans lesquels l’étranger est assigné à résidence. A la demande du juge, l’étranger justifie que le local affecté à son habitation principale proposé pour l’assignation satisfait aux exigences de garanties de représentation effectives.
