Article L811-3 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Without prejudice to any professional secrecy other than medical secrecy, the authorities and private individuals mentioned in 1° to 8° of Article L. 811-4 shall transmit to the competent administrative authority, acting within the framework of the examination of an initial application for a permit or an application for renewal of a permit or within the framework of the checks provided for in Articles L. 432-2, L. 432-5 and L. 433-1, the documents and information required to check the sincerity and accuracy of the declarations made or the authenticity of the documents produced with a view to granting a right of residence or verifying it.

Sans que s’y oppose un secret professionnel autre que le secret médical, les autorités ainsi que les personnes privées mentionnées aux 1° à 8° de l’article L. 811-4 transmettent à l’autorité administrative compétente, agissant dans le cadre de l’instruction d’une première demande de titre ou d’une demande de renouvellement de titre ou dans le cadre des contrôles prévus aux articles L. 432-2, L. 432-5 et L. 433-1, les documents et les informations nécessaires au contrôle de la sincérité et de l’exactitude des déclarations souscrites ou au contrôle de l’authenticité des pièces produites en vue de l’attribution d’un droit au séjour ou de sa vérification.
