Article L820 of the French Public Health Code

Periods of military training completed after entry into the hospital administration, sick leave, long-term leave and maternity leave are taken into account for advancement in step and grade. Compulsory military service is also taken into account, in accordance with the rules applicable to civil servants.

La durée des périodes d’instruction militaire accomplies après l’entrée dans les cadres de l’administration hospitalière, des congés de maladie, des congés de longue durée et des congés de maternité, entre en ligne de compte pour l’avancement d’échelon et de grade. La durée des services militaires obligatoires est également prise en considération, conformément aux règles applicables aux fonctionnaires de l’Etat.
