Article L910-1 H of the French Commercial code

Unless otherwise stipulated by law, State administrations and public establishments are required to provide each observatory, at its request, with the information and studies they possess and which appear necessary for the observatory to carry out its mission. Each observatory shall inform State administrations and public establishments of its needs so that they can take them into account when drawing up their statistical work and study programmes.

The observatories collect the data required to carry out their missions from the establishment mentioned in Article L. 621-1 of the Rural and Maritime Fishing Code and from the official statistical service.

Sauf disposition législative contraire, les administrations de l’Etat et les établissements publics de l’Etat sont tenus de communiquer à chaque observatoire qui en fait la demande les éléments d’information et les études dont ils disposent et qui lui apparaissent nécessaires pour l’exercice de sa mission. Chaque observatoire fait connaître aux administrations de l’Etat et aux établissements publics de l’Etat ses besoins afin qu’ils en tiennent compte dans l’élaboration de leurs programmes de travaux statistiques et d’études.

Les observatoires recueillent les données nécessaires à l’exercice de leurs missions auprès de l’établissement mentionné à l’article L. 621-1 du code rural et de la pêche maritime et du service statistique public.
