Article LO6221-6 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

In the event of the dissolution or suspension of the Territorial Council, the resignation of all its serving members or the annulment that has become final of the election of all its members, the President is responsible for the dispatch of current business. His decisions are enforceable only with the agreement of the representative of the State.

The Territorial Council is re-elected within two months. The assembly shall meet as of right on the second Sunday following the first round of voting.

The representative of the State shall convene each elected territorial councillor for the first meeting, for which he shall fix the time and place.

En cas de dissolution ou de suspension du conseil territorial, de démission de tous ses membres en exercice ou d’annulation devenue définitive de l’élection de tous ses membres, le président est chargé de l’expédition des affaires courantes. Ses décisions ne sont exécutoires qu’avec l’accord du représentant de l’Etat.

Il est procédé à la réélection du conseil territorial dans un délai de deux mois. L’assemblée se réunit de plein droit le second dimanche qui suit le premier tour de scrutin.

Le représentant de l’Etat convoque chaque conseiller territorial élu pour la première réunion, dont il fixe l’heure et le lieu.
