Article LO6434-1 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The Territorial Council determines, by analogy with the rules applicable to departmental councils and regional councils, the guarantees granted to the territorial councillors of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon with regard to leave of absence or time credit, guarantees granted in the exercise of a professional activity, guarantees granted at the end of the mandate and the right to training, travel allowances and subsistence expenses incurred in taking part in meetings of the territorial council and expenses resulting from the exercise of a special mandate, as well as the social security and pension scheme.

Le conseil territorial détermine, par analogie avec les règles applicables aux conseils départementaux des départements et aux conseils régionaux, les garanties accordées aux conseillers territoriaux de Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon en ce qui concerne les autorisations d’absence ou le crédit d’heure, les garanties accordées dans l’exercice d’une activité professionnelle, les garanties accordées à l’issue du mandat et le droit à la formation, les indemnités de déplacement et frais de séjour engagés pour prendre part aux réunions du conseil territorial et les dépenses résultant de l’exercice d’un mandat spécial, ainsi que le régime de sécurité sociale et de retraite.
