The Commission meets either as an amicable settlement body or as a conciliation body when convened by its Chairman, who sets the agenda and appoints rapporteurs, either from among the members of the Commission or, if necessary, from among competent civil servants or public officials.
It may only deliberate if at least five (1) of its members in office are present. If this is not the case, a new meeting will be held, without a quorum being required, at the end of a period of fifteen days.
One or more members, doctors or dental surgeons, of the National Medical Accidents Commission, appointed by its Chairman or Vice-Chairman, may attend one or more of its meetings, with the agreement of the Chairman or Deputy Chairman of the Commission, in a non-voting or advisory capacity.
The Committee’s opinions are adopted by a majority of the members present. In the event of a tie, the Chairman has the casting vote.
