Article R1211-1 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The elected members and parliamentary members of the Local Finance Committee are appointed for three years; their term of office may be renewed.

They cease to be members of the committee if they lose the elective office on account of which they were appointed.

If a full member ceases to be a member of the committee, he or she is replaced by the alternate provided for in the tenth paragraph of Article L. 1211-2. If this alternate member also ceases to be a member of the committee, the provisions of the last paragraph of Article L. 1211-2 are applied.

Les membres élus et les membres parlementaires du comité des finances locales sont désignés pour trois ans ; leur mandat peut être renouvelé.

Ils cessent de faire partie du comité s’ils perdent le mandat électif à raison duquel ils ont été désignés.

Si un membre titulaire cesse de faire partie du comité, il est remplacé par le suppléant prévu au dixième alinéa de l’article L. 1211-2. Si ce membre suppléant cesse également de faire partie du comité, il est fait application des dispositions du dernier alinéa de l’article L. 1211-2.
