Article R1211-3 of the French Public Health Code

Transport costs are reimbursed on the basis of the least expensive fare for the means of public transport best suited to the journey; air transport costs may be reimbursed if the other means of transport require a journey time of more than three hours.

Expenses arising from the use of the donor’s personal car or that of the person accompanying the donor are reimbursed under the conditions provided for in the first paragraph of article 30 of decree no. 92-566 of 25 June 1992 setting the conditions and procedures for the payment of expenses arising from travel by civil servants and hospital civil servants within the metropolitan territory of France. Expenses resulting from the use of other individual means of land transport, whether sanitary or not, or air transport, other than in the case provided for in the previous paragraph, are reimbursed if their prescription is medically justified by the donor’s condition. The medical prescription must indicate the least expensive means of transport compatible with the donor’s condition.

La prise en charge des frais de transport est effectuée sur la base du tarif le moins onéreux du moyen de transport en commun le mieux adapté au déplacement ; les frais de transport par voie aérienne peuvent être pris en charge dès lors que les autres moyens de transport requièrent un temps de trajet supérieur à trois heures.

Les frais occasionnés par l’utilisation de l’automobile personnelle du donneur ou de la personne qui l’accompagne sont remboursés dans les conditions prévues au premier alinéa de l’article 30 du décret n° 92-566 du 25 juin 1992 fixant les conditions et les modalités de règlement des frais occasionnés par les déplacements des fonctionnaires et agents relevant de la fonction publique hospitalière sur le territoire métropolitain de la France. Les frais résultant de l’utilisation d’autres moyens de transport terrestres individuels sanitaires ou non sanitaires ou d’un moyen de transport aérien, en dehors du cas prévu à l’alinéa précédent, sont remboursés si leur prescription est médicalement justifiée par l’état du donneur. La prescription médicale indique le moyen de transport le moins onéreux compatible avec l’état du donneur.
