Article R1235-12 of the French Labour Code

The court will rule on the objection regardless of the amount of benefits claimed. The court’s judgment replaces the order for payment.
If the amount of the claim exceeds the amount for which the court has final jurisdiction, the court will rule on the appeal.

Le tribunal judiciaire statue sur l’opposition quel que soit le montant des allocations dont le remboursement a été réclamé. Le jugement du tribunal se substitue à l’ordonnance portant injonction de payer.
Le tribunal statue à charge d’appel lorsque le montant de la demande excède le taux de sa compétence en dernier ressort.
