Article R1311-9 of the French Public Health Code

The hermetically sealed packaging of each unit consisting of the jewellery item and its support, whether placed on the market free of charge or in return for payment, shall bear the following information, written in such a way as to be easily legible, clearly understandable and indelible:

1° The name of the product;

2° The date of maximum durability, defined as the date until which this product, stored under appropriate conditions, continues to fulfil its initial function; this date shall be announced by the words: This date is announced by the words: “Use by”, followed either by the date itself, or by an indication of where it appears on the labelling; the date is made up of the month and the year, in clear and in order;

3° The manufacturing batch number or the reference allowing the manufacturing process to be identified;

4° The words: “sterile”;

5° The name or company name and address(es) of the manufacturer or the person responsible for placing the product on the market; these details may be abbreviated where the abbreviation enables the company to be identified.

L’emballage hermétique de chaque unité constituée par le bijou de pose et son support, mis sur le marché à titre gratuit ou onéreux, comporte les indications suivantes, inscrites de manière à être facilement lisibles, clairement compréhensibles et indélébiles :

1° La dénomination du produit ;

2° La date de durabilité maximale, définie comme étant la date jusqu’à laquelle ce produit, conservé dans des conditions appropriées, continue à remplir sa fonction initiale ; cette date est annoncée par la mention : ” A utiliser avant “, suivie soit de la date elle-même, soit de l’indication de l’endroit de l’étiquetage où elle figure ; la date se compose de l’indication, en clair et dans l’ordre, du mois et de l’année ;

3° Le numéro de lot de fabrication ou la référence permettant l’identification de la fabrication ;

4° La mention : ” stérile ” ;

5° Le nom ou la raison sociale et la ou les adresses du fabricant ou du responsable de la mise sur le marché ; ces mentions peuvent être abrégées lorsque l’abréviation permet l’identification de l’entreprise.
