Article R1322-44-1 of the French Public Health Code

The operator shall immediately inform the Director General of the Regional Health Agency, who will immediately inform the Prefect, of any incident that may have consequences for public health, particularly concerning the water resource and the way it is developed, the conditions under which the water is transported and stored up to the points of use, and the measures taken to remedy the situation.

L’exploitant porte immédiatement à la connaissance du directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé, qui en informe aussitôt le préfet tout incident pouvant avoir des conséquences pour la santé publique, concernant notamment la ressource en eau et les modalités de son aménagement, les conditions de transport de l’eau et de sa conservation jusqu’aux points d’usage ainsi que les mesures prises pour y remédier.
