Article R1322-44-15 of the French Public Health Code

The analytical composition of a water which is the subject of a numerical description appearing on packaging, labels and in advertising is not different from that presented by the water to which the said description refers. However, differences in the composition of a natural mineral water resulting from natural fluctuations which do not affect the stability of the essential characteristics of the water are not considered to be differences within the meaning of this article.

Any container used for the packaging of natural mineral waters shall be fitted with a closing device designed to prevent any possibility of falsification or contamination.

La composition analytique d’une eau faisant l’objet d’une description chiffrée figurant sur les emballages, les étiquettes et dans la publicité n’est pas différente de celle présentée par l’eau à laquelle se rapporte ladite mention. Toutefois, les écarts de composition d’une eau minérale naturelle résultant de fluctuations naturelles n’affectant pas la stabilité des caractéristiques essentielles de l’eau ne sont pas considérés comme des différences au sens du présent article.

Tout récipient utilisé pour le conditionnement des eaux minérales naturelles est muni d’un dispositif de fermeture conçu pour éviter toute possibilité de falsification ou de contamination.
