In the case of individual fireplaces and appliances, maintenance and sweeping are carried out at the occupant’s initiative, unless otherwise stipulated in the lease.
In the case of collective fireplaces and appliances, maintenance and chimney sweeping are carried out at the initiative of the owner, the co-owners’ association or, if an agreement so provides, the building operator. Occupants must be given sufficient notice of the visit of the professionals responsible for maintenance and sweeping, and must make all necessary arrangements to allow these operations to take place.
