Human anatomical parts intended for abandonment must be cremated. Cremation takes place in a crematorium authorised in accordance with article L. 2223-40 of the General Local Authorities Code and whose manager holds the authorisation provided for in article L. 2223-41 of this Code. The provisions of articles R. 2213-34 to R. 2213-39 of the General Local Authorities Code do not apply to them. Cremation takes place outside the crematorium’s public opening hours. Ashes resulting from the cremation of anatomical parts of human origin may be collected and processed by municipalities and groups of municipalities under the conditions defined in article L. 2224-14 of the General Local Authorities Code.
