I. – For the purposes of this section, the following definitions apply
– collective water misting systems: devices generating water aerosols, within establishments open to the public and places accessible to the public, aimed specifically at dispersing fine droplets of water directly into the volumes of air to which the public is exposed, for the purposes of entertainment, cooling or humidifying the air or foodstuffs, excluding devices used for fire protection and those used within air treatment plants. These systems include systems operating with a mixture of air and water, known as atomisation systems, systems operating with ultrasound, known as nebulisation systems, or systems operating with pressurised water;
– water distribution network intended for human consumption: the installations mentioned in 1° and 2° of article R. 1321-43 as well as the private water distribution installations mentioned in 3° of the same article. The water circulating in these installations complies with the regulatory provisions of section 1 of chapter I of title II of book III of the first part of the public health code;
– backflow: the movement of water from downstream to upstream in a water distribution network.
II. – The provisions of this section apply without prejudice to the provisions in force concerning the hygiene of foodstuffs.
