The Scientific Advisory Board comprises twenty-seven members, including its Chairman, at least four of whom are or have been practising abroad or in European or international organisations.
Members are appointed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors for a renewable term of four years, on a proposal from the Managing Director, after validation by the Board of Directors of the list of members. The Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board is appointed from among its members by order of the Minister for Health, after consulting the Scientific Advisory Board.
In the event of a vacancy for any reason whatsoever, a new member is appointed under the conditions set out in the second paragraph of this article to complete the term of office of the member being replaced.
The Board may call on the assistance of any competent person.
The Scientific Advisory Board is convened by its Chairman, or at the request of the Managing Director, or on the initiative of at least one third of its members, or at the request of the Board of Directors. It meets at least three times a year.
