In application of article L. 1435-12, the Director General of the Regional Health Agency shall set up and run a regional vigilance and support network comprising the persons and representatives of the structures mentioned in articles R. 1221-32, R. 1340-4, R. 1413-75, R. 1413-83, R. 1413-86, R. 1413-90, R. 5121-158, R. 5132-104 and R. 5212-7. It associates with the network any other structure responsible for improving the quality and safety of healthcare provision in the region. It coordinates the regional activities of these structures in accordance with their respective missions and obligations.
Within the framework of this network, the Director General of the Regional Health Agency, in conjunction with the competent national agencies and authorities :
1° Defines the work programme to which the members of the regional vigilance and support network contribute for the implementation, within the territorial jurisdiction of the regional health agency, of the policy for developing the quality and safety of healthcare provision, and organises the coordination of their actions in this field;
2° Encourages pooling between members of the regional vigilance and support network, particularly with regard to tools, methods and resources.
The regional intervention units mentioned in article L. 1413-2 provide assistance to the regional monitoring and support network under the conditions set out in article R. 1413-44.
