Article R142-34 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

When an application for assisted return is submitted, the fingerprints of the ten fingers of persons aged twelve or over for whom assistance is requested are collected for comparison with the fingerprints recorded in the automated processing system referred to in article R. 142-33.

Lors du dépôt d’une demande d’aide au retour, il est procédé au recueil des empreintes digitales des dix doigts des personnes âgées d’au moins douze ans au bénéfice desquelles l’aide est demandée, aux fins de comparaison avec les empreintes enregistrées dans le traitement automatisé mentionné à l’article R. 142-33.
