Where the post of registrar is vacant or where the registrar is prevented from attending or is absent, the deputy registrar acts as substitute or acting registrar.
Where there are several deputies, the registrar, or if he or she is unable to do so, the president of the court, appoints one of the deputies to act as deputy or interim registrar.
If there is no deputy, a head of department or another registry official is appointed under the same conditions.
In the industrial tribunals mentioned in the second paragraph of article L. 123-1 of the Code of Judicial Organisation, the deputy is appointed in accordance with the provisions of article R. 123-8 of the same code.
