The national commission, mentioned in articles L. 1424-22 and L. 1424-23, is set up by joint order of the Minister of the Interior and the Minister responsible for Overseas France.
It comprises:
a) A member of the Court of Auditors appointed on the proposal of the first president, a member of the general inspectorate of administration and a prefect, and their alternates;
b) Three chairmen of departmental councils appointed on the proposal of the permanent assembly of departmental council chairmen, and their alternates;
c) Three mayors or chairmen of public establishments for inter-communal cooperation, appointed on the proposal of the Association of French Mayors, and their alternates;
d) Three firefighters, including one professional firefighter officer appointed from among the representatives of professional firefighter officers sitting on the national joint administrative commissions, one non-officer professional firefighter appointed on a proposal from the most representative trade union organisations and one volunteer firefighter appointed on a proposal from the Fédération nationale des sapeurs-pompiers français, and their alternates.
