Article R1462-1 of the French Labour Code

The industrial tribunal will rule at last instance:
1° When the total value of the claims of none of the parties exceeds the jurisdictional rate set by decree;
2° When the claim is for the delivery, even under penalty, of work certificates, pay slips or any document that the employer is required to deliver, unless the ruling is at first instance due to the amount of the other claims.

Le conseil de prud’hommes statue en dernier ressort :
1° Lorsque lorsque la valeur totale des prétentions d’aucune des parties ne dépasse le taux de compétence fixé par décret ;
2° Lorsque la demande tend à la remise, même sous astreinte, de certificats de travail, de bulletins de paie ou de toute pièce que l’employeur est tenu de délivrer, à moins que le jugement ne soit en premier ressort en raison du montant des autres demandes.
