Article R15-14 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The commission may either annul the decision or confirm it, or convert the withdrawal into a suspension or reduce the duration of the suspension.

If the applicant is not present or represented when the commission’s decision is made, the decision shall be notified to him or her within forty-eight hours of its pronouncement by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.

The judicial police officer’s file, together with a copy of the commission’s decision, is immediately returned to the public prosecutor who made the decision under appeal.

La commission peut soit annuler la décision ou la confirmer, soit transformer le retrait en suspension ou réduire la durée de la suspension.

Si le requérant n’est pas présent ou représenté lorsque la décision de la commission est rendue, cette décision lui est notifiée dans les quarante-huit heures de son prononcé par lettre recommandée avec demande d’avis de réception.

Le dossier de l’officier de police judiciaire, complété par une copie de la décision de la commission, est immédiatement renvoyé au procureur général qui a pris la décision frappée de recours.
