Article R212-11 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Approval of a screening room and its technical projection equipment is granted by the President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée for a screening room and its technical projection equipment or, in the case of touring activity, for the technical projection equipment alone, on the basis of a file which is attached to the application for authorisation to operate and which includes all elements capable of establishing their compliance with the technical specifications mentioned in Article R. 212-10.
The file includes, for the approval of a cinema, the dimensions, the number of spectator seats and a plan of the cinema, and, in all cases, a description of the technical projection equipment and a certificate of compliance with the technical specifications drawn up by an expert chosen by the applicant.

Article R212-11

L’homologation d’une salle et de ses équipements techniques de projection est accordée par le président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée au titre d’une salle et de ses équipements techniques de projection ou, en cas d’activité itinérante, au titre des seuls équipements techniques de projection, au vu d’un dossier qui est joint à la demande d’autorisation d’exploiter et qui comprend tous éléments propres à établir leur conformité aux spécifications techniques mentionnées à l’article R. 212-10.
Le dossier comporte, pour l’homologation d’une salle, les dimensions, le nombre de places de spectateurs et un plan de la salle, et, dans tous les cas, la description des équipements techniques de projection et une attestation de conformité aux spécifications techniques établie par un expert choisi par le demandeur.
