When the indication for a diagnosis on the embryo is accepted, the couple or the unmarried woman is taken in charge by the multidisciplinary clinical-biological medical team responsible for medically assisted procreation and by the practitioner approved to carry out the cytogenetic examination, including molecular cytogenetic examination, or the molecular genetic examination on the embryonic cell or cells.
The couple or unmarried woman is cared for by the clinical and biological multidisciplinary team responsible for this assistance and by the practitioner carrying out the genetic examination on the embryonic cell(s). The diagnosis is carried out in a pre-implantation diagnosis centre located within an establishment authorised for this purpose by the Agence de la biomédecine in application of article L. 2131-4.
Prior to the implementation of medically assisted procreation allowing in vitro fertilisation, and without prejudice to the conditions laid down in article L. 2141-10, the practitioners on the clinical-biological team specify to the couple or unmarried woman the medical and technical constraints that will enable this diagnosis to be made.
The practitioner who carries out the cytogenetic examination, including the molecular examination, or the molecular genetic examination on the embryonic cell or cells shall inform the couple or the unmarried woman of the different phases of the genetic diagnosis and the degree of reliability of the examinations.
