Article R2142-20 of the French Public procurement code

A consortium is:
1° Joint when each of the economic operators in the consortium undertakes to perform the service(s) likely to be awarded to it under the contract;
2° Joint and several when each of the economic operators in the consortium is financially committed for the entire contract.

Article R2142-20

Le groupement est :
1° Conjoint lorsque chacun des opérateurs économiques membres du groupement s’engage à exécuter la ou les prestations qui sont susceptibles de lui être attribuées dans le marché ;
2° Solidaire lorsque chacun des opérateurs économiques membres du groupement est engagé financièrement pour la totalité du marché.
