Article R2151-16 of the French Public Health Code

Any import or export of embryonic stem cells for research purposes, excluding transit and the crossing of customs territory on the occasion of a transfer between two other Member States of the European Union, is subject to the following information being affixed to the outer packaging:

1° The words “embryonic stem cells;”.

2° The designation of the cells concerned;

3° The use for which these cells are intended;

4° For imports, the name and address of the foreign supplier organisation, the organisation authorised to import and the recipient;

5° For exports, the name and address of the organisation authorised to export and of the consignee.

Toute opération d’importation ou d’exportation à des fins de recherche, à l’exclusion du transit et de l’emprunt du territoire douanier à l’occasion d’un transfert entre deux autres Etats membres de l’Union européenne, de cellules souches embryonnaires est subordonnée à l’apposition sur le conditionnement extérieur des informations suivantes :

1° La mention “cellules souches embryonnaires ;”

2° La désignation des cellules concernées ;

3° L’usage auquel ces cellules sont destinées ;

4° Pour l’importation, le nom et l’adresse de l’organisme étranger fournisseur, de l’organisme autorisé à importer et du destinataire ;

5° Pour l’exportation le nom et l’adresse de l’organisme autorisé à exporter et du destinataire.
